A compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) band-pass filter using a cross-coupled λ/4 resonator with loaded split-ring resonators (SRRs) is introduced in this letter. The proposed filter exhibits a quasielliptic function response and its circuit size occupies only 12 × 11.8 mm{sup}2 (≈0.21λ{sub}g × 0.20λ{sub}g). Also, a simple equivalent circuit model is set up. A good agreement between simulations and measurements verify the proposed filter and the validity of design methodology.
